The past doesn't concern Russell Westbrook.

The Los Angeles Clippers guard was asked about his tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers and replied, "That was an experience. "Now I'm past it. I'm in a new place, looking ahead."

Before to the 2021–22 season, the Lakers acquired Westbrook, and anticipation was high. After all, he shared the league MVP award with LeBron James, one of the all-time greats, and Anthony Davis, another All-Star.

Anything but what was expected happened.

After finishing 33-49 in his first season with the organisation and being mired in mediocrity this season, Los Angeles traded him to the Utah Jazz. Prior to him entering the arena, the Jazz waved him off.

With the Purple and Gold, Westbrook's explosiveness and athleticism were lacking in some areas, and his subpar outside shooting prevented him from fully using the space offered by playing alongside James and Davis. Because of this, it was simpler for rival opponents to block the lane, post up the other two stars, and stymie the Lakers offence.

However, he is currently playing for the opposing Los Angeles squad and is vying for his first professional title with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. In the playoffs, he might even get the opportunity to play the Lakers.

If he does, it will be by appointment only.
