DANA WHITE'S SURPRISE VISIT TO DONALD TRUMP AT UFC 287

DONALD TRUMP

At UFC 287 in Miami, former U.S. President Donald Trump and UFC President Dana White were unexpected guests. On Saturday, White shared a picture of themselves backstage with the 45th President of the United States. The UFC president was carrying a few "gold bars" that said, "UFC 287, Sold Out," in front of him.

Trump's attendance at UFC 287 shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that his Mar-a-Lago Resort is only a short drive from the fight venue, the Kaseya Center. Since the early days of the UFC, White and Trump have been close friends. Although almost everyone else was seeking to have the UFC shut down, Trump was one of the few venue owners who welcomed it.

The fact that Trump will be at UFC 287 so soon after being indicted on criminal charges earlier this week in New York may be the only unexpected component of his attendance. Trump is not known for keeping his head down and avoiding controversy, despite those events.

Contrarily, whether you like him or not, the former president has a propensity to head straight into any headwinds that come his way. So it isn't out of character for him to meet with White at UFC 287, especially if the fight involves longtime Trump supporter Jorge Masvidal and the event is essentially in his backyard.

In fact, a recent edition of UFC 287 Embedded showed Masvidal present at a Trump press conference at Mar-a-Lago. On Tuesday evening, the press conference was held.

The UFC 287 co-main event features a fight between Gilbert Burns and Rafael Masvidal. He intends to have a strong performance in order to reclaim the crown. Masvidal, who has recently suffered three losses in a row, has already put pressure on himself by stating that if he loses, he may consider retiring. He now has the former president present to see him battle.
