DHARAMSALA, India (AP) — Tibetan otherworldly pioneer the Dalai Lama apologized Monday after a video showing him kissing a kid on the lips set off analysis.


An assertion posted on his authority site said the 87-year-old pioneer lamented the episode and wished to "apologize to the kid and his family, as well as his numerous companions across the world, for the hurt his words might have caused."


The occurrence happened at a public social occasion in February at the Tsuglakhang sanctuary in Dharamsala, where the banished pioneer lives. He was taking inquiries from the crowd when the kid inquired as to whether he could embrace him.


The Dalai Lama welcomed the kid up toward the stage he was situated on. In the video, he motioned to his cheek, after which the youngster kissed him prior to giving him an embrace.


The Dalai Lama then requested that the kid kiss him on the lips and stood out his tongue. "Also, suck my tongue," the Dalai Lama can be heard saying as the kid stands out his own tongue and inclines in, provoking chuckling from the crowd.


The recording set off a backfire online with web-based entertainment clients denouncing his way of behaving as improper and upsetting.


"His Blessedness frequently prods individuals he meets in a blameless and lively manner, even openly and before cameras," the assertion from the Dalai Lama read.


The Dalai Lama has made the slope town of Dharmsala his central command since escaping from Tibet after a bombed uprising contrary to Chinese rule in 1959. India believes Tibet to be important for China, however it has Tibetan exiles.
